Winner of multiple JUNO Awards, Campbell Ryga is one of the Canada’s finest and most sought after musicians. He is probably best known for his Stellar work with the Hugh Fraser Quintet, a band he’s toured and recorded with for over 20 years. Cam has worked with a diverse range of artists including Lena Horne, Mel Torme, Sheila Jordan, Bobby Shew and Pat LaBarbera. As a leader Ryga’s recent quintet recording, Spectacular (Radioland) is a spirited hard bop outing that captures the spirit of the Cannonball Adderley Quintet of the mid-‘50s.
