Veterans of the Vancouver indie scene, Annie (Zolty Cracker, Duplex!,
knock-down-ginger, The Beekeepers, Great Aunt Ida), Christine
(knock-down-ginger, Girl Friday, Swanyard), Joyita (Daisy Duke, Big
Yellow Taxi, Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra) and Dan
(Lonesome Canadians, Cro-Magnon Man) formed Onward, Voyageur
in the winter of 2006 and immediately began writing and performing
original material.
In late 2007 they entered the studio to record four tracks for an
upcoming EP. The results? Songs of loss and isolation that tease the
exotic and strange from the quotidian, songs sung on back porches
in dusk light, songs that invoke the lush landscape of some unknown
country of the imagination, clockwork lullabies that mark the
dreamtime of the life behind the life you live.
Characterized by tight vocal harmonies, serpentine guitar lines,
atmospheric keys and laid-back rhythms, the heady pop potion of
Onward, Voyageur is laced with just enough bitterness and bite to
make it linger on the sonic palette long after the last chord fades.
Was that a dream, or a premonition? Onward, Voyageur!
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
