Event Description
The Gettin' Higher Choir is a "no audition," "All voices welcome" community choir that seeks to embrace and celebrate humanity’s highest aspirations through music, welcoming people of all ages and cultures.
We are not associated with any particular religion or spiritual path. Our aim is to re-integrate singing into the daily routines of life. We sing for the pure joy and pleasure it gives us, in an atmosphere that is fun, relaxed, and accepting. Our repertoire consists of both traditional and new songs from many cultures. The majority are sung a cappella (unaccompanied) in 4-part harmony.
We are welcoming new members for the first two weeks of our fall season as follows:
Mondays: (Sept. 17 & 24) 1st Unitarian Church, 5575 W. Saanich Rd., Saanich, B.C., V9E 2G1
Tuesdays (Sept. 18 & 25) The Church of Truth, 111 Superior St., Victoria, B.C., V8V 1T2
Thursdays (Sept. 20 & 27) The Church of Truth, 111 Superior St., Victoria, B.C., V8V 1T2
All three evenings
7:00 – 7:30 p.m New Singers Orientation
7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Free trial of harmonious singing
