Event Description
WHAT: VALENTINE’S WEEKEND DESSERT & DANCE
Listen and dance to:
STERLING; a local rock band, they play “sterling rock” - not too hard and not too soft, so enjoyable by pretty much all. All of what they play is written by the band members.
SOUTHWOOD: Delivering a great mix of classic and modern rock and blues music, with songs from bands like Led Zep, Heart, CCR, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hole, Pink, and No Doubt! Guaranteed to entertain!
Of course dancing is not required (but it is fun) and there’ll be plenty of nice seats for listening from.
Dessert included in the ticket.
Refreshments available. (but please arrange a dedicated driver for your safety or don’t drink, why not come out as a big group of friends and just bring one teatotaler)
So come on out and enjoy a great local Valentine’s weekend music and dance till you drop. Or just come and listen to the music, enjoy dessert and a nice social.

THE HISTORY: Back in the misty (and indoor smoking as can be seen in the picture) past there were very popular music and dances at the Shirley Hall, however they were a bit too popular and unruly for their own good and they shut down in the early 80’s due partially to bad behaviour. But now they are coming back!
