Event Description
Happy Halloween!! We're thrilled to welcome back Scotland's Dàimh after a stunning performance last year! This time touring in support of their latest release "Sula".
Celebrated Highland supergroup Dàimh are a long‐established festival favourite throughout Scotland, Ireland, Europe and across North America. Twice named Folk Band of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards, the group are unchallenged champions and exponents of straight-up West Highland music.
Taking their name from the Gaelic word for kinship (pronounced Dive), the five-piece draw heavily from the rich musical well of their West Lochaber and Skye roots - whilst ‘dàimh’ also point towards the electrifying musical interplay between band members, as well as the connection with audiences at their breath-taking live shows around the world. From pyrotechnic jigs and reels to achingly poignant ballads, they run the full expressive gamut of folk music at its best.
The group’s current line-up features founding members Angus MacKenzie (pipes and whistles), Gabe McVarish (fiddle) and Ross Martin (guitar), alongside Murdo Cameron (mandola, mandolin and accordion) and Ellen MacDonald (Gaelic song) continuing the band’s top-shelf 20-year-plus pedigree.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
