Bringing together the distinct energy of the west coast with upbeat melody, Young Pacific captivates audiences with a distinct brand of indie pop. Their songs explode on stage as they combine with the bands high-energy presence to captivate audiences, and move them on the dance floor.
Hailing from Coquitlam B.C. a cloudy suburb of Canada's west coast urban central, Vancouver, Young Pacific has evolved since its creation by friends Mike Holden, Djavin Bowen and Mike Noble in 2009. The three built on musical influences ranging from the Strokes to Broken Social Scene to develop a starting point for their sound. Overwhelming success early on lead to a hectic schedule of performances making a stop at some of Vancouver’s most popular live music venues sharing the stage with artists such as Guilty About Girls and Henry & The Nightcrawlers. After playing more shows in two months than many bands do in half-a-year Young Pacific headed into the studio with producer Tom Dobrzansk (Said The Whale, We Are The City) to develop and record the best of their catalogue. Whether the catchy hooks in “Telephone”, or the unmistakable harmonies in “Circles to Squares,” the music and lyrics are not only inspired by growing up on the west coast, but also other inseparable influences ranging from childhood, to imagination and time itself.
With the adoption of Brock Wiederick into the Young Pacific family in 2010, the band solidified a line up with like minds and a unified musical feel. The vast range of musical influences and training influence a ever evolving sound, while staying rooted in the formulas which made the band what it is today. With an EP complete Young Pacific hopes to continue with their momentum and create great songs for all to dance to, listen to, and love.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
